Valentine's Dinner with Loaf at MBMA

On Wednesday, February 15th, come experience the first of many tasting-menu dinners from Loaf at Memphis Brooks Museum of Art. In keeping with a Loaf Valentine's Day tradition, this inaugural dinner's menu is designed entirely around an unforgettable Persian Love Cake. Loaf is making it even easier to fall in love at Memphis' art museum.  

  • First Course: An amuse-bouche of a crispy puri shell stuffed with a mixture of shio koji pickled peas, diced beetroot, and red lentils on top of a creamy sweet potato puree
  • Second Course: A phenomenally creamy freekeh, similar to Italian farro, risotto filled with roasted butternut squash and saffron, and accompanied by  seared hen of the woods mushrooms and a sauce of salted kumquat.
  • Third Course:  A delicious and seasonal salad of grapefruit segments on top of shaved brussels sprouts then topped with goat cheese, crushed hazelnuts, and a champagne and passion fruit vinaigrette.
  • Fourth Course: A play on koresh bademjan, a Persian stew of lamb, eggplant, and pomegranate molasses. For meat eaters, it will come with a Frenched rack of lamb ribs crusted with garlic and limu omani then roasted. For the vegetarian crowd, enjoy koofteh, Persian "meatballs" made out of Beyond Meat. They will both be served on top of a puree of eggplant and pomegranate molasses, alongside a crispy miniature tadigh, which is a famous Persian rice dish. The dish will be topped with pomegranate arils and a blend of fresh herbs.
  • Fifth Course: An unforgettable Persian Love Cake made from semolina and almond flour cake soaked in a cardamom and rose syrup, dusted in powdered sugar and topped with candied rose hips and crushed pistachios.

There will be both cocktail and wine pairings available at the event!  Seatings will be available every 30 minutes from 5pm to 8pm.
