Join us for our tenth art history lecture taught by Professor Rebecca Howard.

Lesson description: In this lecture, we will discuss drastic social and political changes that led to major artistic movements of the western world. Learn about the opulence under the rule of Louis XIV in France and the Rococo, as well as the French Revolution and the artwork of Jacques-Louis David in the Neoclassical period. We will also consider the rise and fall of Napoleon and the devastation of the Napoleonic Wars.

Lectures will be taught in the education studio at the Brooks Museum of Art. Limited seating available with tickets for $20 or free for our Brooks Docents. More information on becoming a docent available here.
