Guest Services Team Member

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

The Guest Services Team Member plays an essential role in creating a welcoming, accessible, and engaging experience for every museum visitor. As a cross-trained member of the museum’s front-of-house team, this position works across multiple visitor-facing areas, including ticketing and check-in, museum galleries, retail, the interactive space, and coffee cart.

Guest Services Team Members are expected to confidently rotate between positions based on daily operational needs, visitor volume, programming, and staff coverage. This position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, curiosity, and a proactive approach to hospitality. Team members serve as a primary resource for visitors throughout their experience and work collaboratively with Guest Services leadership, Security, and other museum departments to ensure smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience

● Welcome every guest with warmth, professionalism and genuine enthusiasm. ● Create a positive and memorable experience through thoughtful, attentive service.

● Handle guest concerns with professionalism and involve a supervisor when needed.

Daily Operations

● Work across the ticketing desk, galleries, interactive space, retail space and coffee cart based on operational needs.

● Process transactions accurately using a ticketing system and point of sale. ● Help maintain clean, organized and guest-ready public spaces. ● Follow museum policies and operational procedures.

Professionalism & Teamwork

● Arrive on time, in proper uniform and ready to contribute each shift. ● Bring a positive attitude and work collaboratively with teammates. ● Adapt to changing priorities and provide support wherever needed. ● Represent the museum with professionalism in every guest interaction.

Qualifications

● Friendly, dependable and guest-focused.

● Strong communication and customer service skills required.

● Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. ● Previous customer service or hospitality experience is required. ● Must be able to operate simple technology.

● Must be able to follow instructions, protocols and checklists

● Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
