Job Title: Sales Associate - Full-Time
Location: Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, Memphis, TN
Reports To: Director of Sales and Business Development
Job Summary:
The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art seeks a motivated and personable Sales Associate to connect with public and private groups, organizations, corporations and non-profits, secure and manage group bookings and corporate memberships, and facilitate sales. This position is ideal for someone passionate about the arts, skilled in sales, and eager to build relationships within the Memphis community. The Sales Associate will be responsible for developing lead lists, conducting prospect research and outreach, communicating with clients and negotiating, and handling administrative duties, all while meeting revenue targets and ensuring exceptional customer experiences, thereby creating a welcoming, knowledgeable, and enriching environment for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Knowledge & Expertise:
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the museum’s private offerings and programming
- Serve as an informed resource for prospects, sharing insights and creating engaging experiences that align with each group’s interests.
- Must be comfortable with various technologies and software suites and comfortable in adopting new technologies
- Outreach & Promotion:
- Build and maintain relationships with a variety of social groups and stakeholders in key organizations
- Developing and implementing a sales strategy to actively promote museum offerings, including venue rentals, discounted tickets, ad space, and special excursions for groups
- Attend networking and sales events and expos regularly to promote the same
- Client Communications & Relationship Building:
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring a seamless booking process and providing a high level of personalized service
- Skilled in identifying customer needs and providing solutions in real-time
- Answering inquiries and responding to client requests promptly and professionally, following and improving on current sales processes & cycles
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients through social touchpoints and feedback requests
- Ensuring a warm, welcoming, and superior experience for the client
- Sales & Administration:
- Preparing proposals and invoices; contract negotiation with supervisor approval
- Meet or exceed sales goals, maintaining a proactive approach to booking new events and maintaining existing relationships.
- Coordinate with events production team to convey contract information and ensure exceptional client experience through the end of their booking
Qualifications & Skills Needed:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, arts administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in sales, customer service, or relationship management.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a talent for connecting and building relationships
- Ability to learn new technological systems and business processes quickly
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle high volume of client interactions
- Growth Mindset to continue improving current processes based on objectives
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Google Office Suite
- Familiarity with Monday CRM & Monday Work Management a plus

Compensation: Salaried position, $50,000 - $55,000.00, depending on experience, plus commission.
