Job Title: Front of House Team Member
Location: Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, Memphis, TN
Reports To: Associate Director of Operations, Earned Income (with support from Front of House Team Lead)
Job Summary:
The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art seeks a friendly, service-oriented Front of House Team Member to support daily operations. This part-time position is central to the museum’s guest experience and serves as a first point of contact for visitors and members. The ideal candidate is hospitality-minded, reliable, flexible and passionate about delivering welcoming, professional, and engaging service in a dynamic arts environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience & Hospitality
- Create positive first impressions by welcoming guests and guiding them through all the museum has to offer.
- Serve as a front-facing representative of the museum, providing knowledgeable and friendly assistance with admissions, retail offerings, memberships, and general inquiries.
- Anticipate guest needs and resolve issues with professionalism and care.
Front of House Operations
- Staff the Welcome Desk and Café, providing efficient and friendly service.
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, tea, and café menu items.
- Operate point-of-sale systems accurately for admissions and café transactions.
- Support daily opening and closing procedures.
Environment & Standards
- Maintain clean, organized, and inviting front-of-house spaces, including the café and welcome desk.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Monitor and restock supplies and communicate needs to supervisors.
Team & Museum Support
- Collaborate with museum departments to support daily operations, programs, and events.
- Assist with deployable furniture setup and breakdown as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills Needed:
- Experience in hospitality, food service, visitor services, or customer service preferred.
- Friendly, professional, and guest-focused demeanor.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, public-facing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain ABC certification within 90 days (provided at no cost)

Compensation: $15.00 hourly, part-time based on availability
