Memphis Brooks Museum of Art is working with Studio Institute’s Arts Intern Memphis Program to offer a paid internship for 28 hours per week over a 9-week period from June to August, 2023. Applicants must be a full-time student, a rising junior or senior in college as of June 2023, and must have an effective family contribution of $5000 or less on their FAFSA. Applicants must also reside or attend college/university in Memphis. Memphis Brooks Museum of Art has been mounting exhibitions since 1916. The museum is seeking a candidate with good research and organization skills along with keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will research and collate key data for the museum’s early exhibitions. The project will give the successful candidate a deep and broad understanding of the museum’s exhibition process. In addition to their core project, the Exhibition Archive Intern will participate in museum-wide meetings and functions and will observe major temporary exhibition installations and deinstallations (including some light duties for same). Additionally, one day per week will be programmed through the Studio Institute where interns will meet with their peers across the city and with other cohorts in the country for additional professional interest and development programming.
