FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art and Cazateatro Bilingual Theatre Group are partnering to host a free, socially distanced 4th Annual Día de los Muertos celebration on Saturday, October 24 from noon to 4 p.m. The community is invited to celebrate this traditional Mexican holiday honoring friends and family members who have died.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s event will feature costumed performers, music, altars, and other festivities stationed along a parade route through Overton Park. The community is invited to drive through Overton Park to enjoy the floats, altars, and performers – hence the “reverse parade.” Art-making kits also will be available to pick up during the parade so families can enjoy art-making at home.
