Join us for an unforgettable evening
where you can learn and experience culture and tradition. Featuring music from
DJ Moi, the vibrant sounds of Colombian singer Marcela Pinilla, and mariachi
music from the roving troupe Mariachi Guadalajara. Upon arrival make a paper Cempasuchitl, the traditional flower of the deceased to wear
or place on the museum's altar in honor of the dead. Then the party
Catrinas, or opulently dressed
skeleton figures based on José Luis Posada's icon of death, will be available
for posed photographs. Presented by CazaTeatro Bilingual Theatre.
Have your face painted with a
sugar skull-inspired design. See Mexican artist Yancy Villa-Calvo
demonstrate the traditional folk art of papel picado.
Also enjoy a Mexican
top spinning demonstration, visit various game stations, and last but not least dance to Latin rhythms.
