Celebrate the art and life of American artist Faith Ringgold at
Wacky Wednesday on July 17th. Create a work of art to take home in
our Open ArtWorks Studio and take in a film in our air-conditioned auditorium.
This week’s films feature a film about Faith Ringgold, an independent film from
Germany, The Flying Girl, and an independent film from Japan, Yonalure:
Moment to Moment, directed by Ayaka Nakata and Yuki Sakitani,. Stay after Wacky Wednesday to
celebrate the birthday of the late Nam June Paik, creator of the Vide-O-belisk
at the Brooks with cupcakes and a round of Happy Birthday.
Every Wednesday in June and July, come get wacky at the
Museum admission and all activities are free, so the whole community can
experience the creativity and inspiration of both the visual arts and film.
Children of all ages and their adult friends can drop into our Artworks Studio
and create a variety of projects using many different materials. They can also
watch a multitude of films made just for kids. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
