Brooks Outside: Tape Art

The Rhode Island-based artist collective known as The Tape Art Crew will transform specifically-chosen sites in Memphis from September 13 through 16 with public murals, workshops and a community collaborative project.



By the Book:
A Tribute to Dolph Smith

July 15 - November 26

Dolph Smith is recognized for his art in a variety of media, but among the finest works are his artists’ books. This exhibition is built around six examples, and honors him through the inclusion of eleven artists who have worked with and admire him.


Drawing Memory:
Essence of Memphis

Currently on view 

Victor Ekpuk, a Nigerian American artist, painted a mural for the new African art galleries in March 2017. His art is inspired by nsibidi, a sacred means of communication among male secret societies in southeastern Nigeria.



Rotunda Projects:
Nnenna Okore

November 16, 2016 - September 10, 2017

Nnenna Okore (b.1975) is the second artist selected for the Rotunda Projects series. Working with burlap, she fashions abstract objects inspired by textures, colors, and landscapes from her immediate environment.
