Come to Wacky Wednesday on June 12th to celebrate the art of American folk artist Grandma Moses with an art-making activity in our Open Artworks Studio and short films. This week’s films include Philadelphia Chickens, an independent children’s film by Sandra Boynton, famed children’s author, featuring Kevin Bacon (Boynton Movies, USA 2010), Swamp Angel, an original tall tale about the greatest woodswoman in Tennessee history and many more. While you’re here, take a look around the galleries, and our newly opened special exhibit The Crossroads of Memory: Carroll Cloar and the American South. The special exhibition also contains an interactive gallery made for all ages!
Every Wednesday in June and July, come get wacky at the Brooks! Museum admission and all activities are free, so the whole community can experience the creativity and inspiration of both the visual arts and film. Children of all ages and their adult friends can drop into our Artworks Studio and create a variety of projects using many different materials. They can also watch a multitude of films made just for kids. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations are required for groups of 10 or more.
