Elizabeth Rouse: Powering Authentic Culture, Empowering Authentic Communities

Elizabeth Rouse took over the top leadership position at ArtsMemphis on January 1, 2015. She has served ArtsMemphis since 2006 in several critical roles, including Chief Development Officer and Chief Operating Officer, demonstrating a complete organizational knowledge. During her tenure in development, Ms. Rouse successfully managed yearly fundraising budgets of around $2.5 million.
In her most recent role as COO, Rouse strengthened local arts organizations by further streamlining ArtsMemphis' grant-making process, as she facilitated 10 grant programs. She currently oversees a grant portfolio, which last year, awarded 200 grants to 69 organizations and 28 individual artists, totaling $2.95 million in funding. Ms. Rouse's quick rise within the organization is a testament to her leadership internally and externally as an advocate and passionate supporter of the Memphis arts community. A native of Mobile, Alabama and a graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, she is a graduate of Leadership Memphis.
